Warner Bros. has a new title and new release date for its upcoming Robert De Niro mob movie. The film previously known as The Wise Guys is now titled Alto Knights. The project from director Barry Levinson also has a new release date of Nov. 15, 2024 (back from Feb. 2, 2024).
The film is one of multiple across Hollywood expected to shift dates amid the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, which has shut down production, though insiders say this move is not strike related.
It was the first movies greenlit under the new Warners regime after Warner Bros. Discovery was formed in 2022.
Debra Messing and Kathrine Narducci also star in the feature, written by Nicholas Pileggi and produced by Irwin Winkler and Jason Sosnoff. The logline states that it “follows two of New York’s most notorious organized crime bosses, Frank Costello and Vito Genovese, and how their separate paths to power place them on a deadly collision course.”

Idris Elba was among the performers helping to kick off the 2024 SAG Awards ceremony on Saturday with the “I Am an Actor” segment, during which he opened up about sneaking into Robert De Niro‘s offices as an aspiring actor.
“When I was just starting out in this business — I was 19 years old — I scammed my way up to Robert De Niro’s office in Tribeca,” Elba said of the legendary actor, who was nominated at the event for his role in Killers of the Flower Moon. Elba, who himself is a two-time SAG Award winner, explained that auditions had begun that week for the 1993 movie A Bronx Tale that De Niro directed. Elba said he was somehow able to use his “English charm” to convince both the security guard and receptionist that he had an appointment, even though he had not actually been invited to audition.
“And that’s how I ended up in A Bronx Tale,” Elba said. He then clarified, “No, I’m lying. I wasn’t in A Bronx Tale. I got kicked out of the office by Robert De Niro’s producing partner at the time, a gesture that I took to mean, ‘Kid, you’re going to go places.’”

Whoopi Goldberg has never been one to mince words.
On Wednesday, Goldberg appeared on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, where a viewer call-in question prompted host Andy Cohen to ask about the shade NeNe Leakes has been throwing the ladies of The View since her set visit on Nov. 17.
After the viewer had asked why Leakes accused the co-hosts of being “mean girls,” Cohen asked Goldberg, “Did you know when she left that day she was feeling that?” At that point, it’s pretty clear Goldberg was largely unaware of the drama.
“You know what? I really didn’t. Come on! Really, NeNe?” said Goldberg, who then wanted to know if Leakes actually gave any specific explanation for her negative experience. Cohen explained that the former The Real Housewives of Atlanta star felt like Raven-Symoné was giving her the “stink eye” and that she “wasn’t feeling Joy [Behar].”
At that point, Goldberg deadpanned, “Well, then, you know, come back another day and try again.”
Still, as straightforward as Goldberg’s response was, it was also classy. Goldberg didn’t say anything disparaging about Leakes, which is more than one could say of the reverse.
When Leakes chatted with Cohen on Watch What Happens Live on Dec. 6, she didn’t exactly play nice, saying of The View co-hosts, “They did not have nice manners. I know they’re all tired: Their hairstyles are tired, their makeup is tired. Whatever.”

Audiences will get a candid look into Stallone’s home life with the release of his new reality show The Family Stallone, and it’s safe to say the 76-year-old’s private ongoings are sparking real interest.
Not least where his methods of parenting relating to his three beloved daughters, Sophia, 26, Sistine, 24, and Scarlet, 20, are concerned. The girls have already gone on record to reveal how it’s impossible for them to date anyone while under the watchful gaze of their father, going as far as to claim that he quite literally scares potential suitors off.
Now, protective dads looking out for their daughters’ best interests is nothing new. Hell, the trope has been a staple of Hollywood films for as long Hollywood has been Hollywood.
Even so, Stallone appears to have no qualms with taking what can only be considered an old school approach to the prospect of his daughters finding new men to live their lives with.
