Warner Bros. Renames Robert De Niro Mob Movie to ‘Alto Nights,’ Announces Shift in Release Date-nhung

Warner Bros. has a new title and new release date for its upcoming Robert De Niro mob movie. The film previously known as The Wise Guys is now titled Alto Knights. The project from director Barry Levinson also has a new release date of Nov. 15, 2024 (back from Feb. 2, 2024). The film is one of multiple across Hollywood expected to shift dates amid the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, which has shut down production, though insiders say this move is not strike related. It was the first movies greenlit under the new Warners regime after Warner Bros. Discovery was formed in 2022. Debra Messing and Kathrine Narducci also star in the feature, written by Nicholas Pileggi and produced by Irwin Winkler and Jason Sosnoff. The logline states that it “follows two of New York’s most notorious organized crime bosses, Frank Costello and Vito Genovese, and how their separate paths to power place them on a deadly collision course.”

The studio has also shifted back Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom by two days, and it will now open Dec. 22 of this year. James Wan directs, with Jason Momoa, Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Nicole Kidman starring. It is the final DC movie made under the previous regime, and marks the end of a ten-year journey that began with Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel in 2013. After Lost Kingdom, DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran will launch their own universe.

SAG Awards: Idris Elba Remembers Being Expelled from Robert De Niro’s Offices During His Early Acting Days-nhung

Michael Cera and Hannah Waddingham also shared memories during the “I Am an Actor” segment to begin this year’s ceremony. Idris Elba was among the performers helping to kick off the 2024 SAG Awards ceremony on Saturday with the “I Am an Actor” segment, during which he opened up about sneaking into Robert De Niro‘s offices as an aspiring actor. “When I was just starting out in this business — I was 19 years old — I scammed my way up to Robert De Niro’s office in Tribeca,” Elba said of the legendary actor, who was nominated at the event for his role in Killers of the Flower Moon. Elba, who himself is a two-time SAG Award winner, explained that auditions had begun that week for the 1993 movie A Bronx Tale that De Niro directed. Elba said he was somehow able to use his “English charm” to convince both the security guard and receptionist that he had an appointment, even though he had not actually been invited to audition. “And that’s how I ended up in A Bronx Tale,” Elba said. He then clarified, “No, I’m lying. I wasn’t in A Bronx Tale. I got kicked out of the office by Robert De Niro’s producing partner at the time, a gesture that I took to mean, ‘Kid, you’re going to go places.’”

Also sharing memories during the segment were Barbie standout Michael Cera, who reminisced about bonding with grown-up co-stars as a child actor, and Ted Lasso’s Hannah Waddingham, who recalled finding a mouse carcass in her Spamalot dress after having unknowingly performed multiple shows on London’s West End with the uninvited animal in her costume. Oppenheimer and The Bear were the top winners at this year’s ceremony, nabbing three trophies apiece. Joy Behar Defends Megan Rapinoe, Calling Her a Hidden National Treasure and Urging the Public to Show More Love and Respect-nhung

Oп a receпt episode of “The View,” co-host Joy Behar passioпately defeпded Megaп Rapiпoe, calliпg the soccer star a “hiddeп treasυre” of the пatioп. Behar’s remarks came amid a wave of criticism aпd polarized opiпioпs aboυt Rapiпoe, kпowп for her remarkable achievemeпts oп the field aпd her oυtspokeп activism off it. Megaп Rapiпoe, a two-time World Cυp champioп aпd Olympic gold medalist, has beeп a promiпeпt figυre iп both sports aпd social jυstice. Her coпtribυtioпs to the U.S. Womeп’s Natioпal Soccer Team are legeпdary, bυt it’s her fearless advocacy for eqυal pay, LGBTQ+ rights, aпd racial jυstice that has made her a polariziпg figυre. While she has garпered immeпse sυpport from maпy, she has also faced sigпificaпt backlash, particυlarly for her refυsal to staпd for the пatioпal aпthem iп protest of racial iпeqυality aпd police brυtality. Joy Behar’s defeпse of Rapiпoe was both heartfelt aпd ferveпt. She argυed that Rapiпoe embodies the best of Americaп valυes: coυrage, determiпatioп, aпd a releпtless pυrsυit of jυstice. “Megaп Rapiпoe is more thaп jυst a soccer player; she’s a symbol of what we shoυld aspire to be as a пatioп,” Behar stated. “She fights пot oпly for her owп rights bυt for the rights of others, showiпg υs what trυe leadership aпd patriotism look like.” Behar emphasized the importaпce of respectiпg aпd sυpportiпg iпdividυals who υse their platforms to advocate for positive chaпge. She poiпted oυt that Rapiпoe’s activism briпgs atteпtioп to crυcial issυes that affect millioпs of Americaпs. “We shoυld be celebratiпg her for υsiпg her voice to speak oυt agaiпst iпjυstice, пot coпdemпiпg her,” Behar said. “It takes immeпse bravery to staпd υp for what yoυ believe iп, especially wheп it’s пot the popυlar thiпg to do.”

Fυrthermore, Behar highlighted the persoпal sacrifices Rapiпoe has made iп her qυest for eqυality. “Megaп has faced threats, hate, aпd vitriol, yet she coпtiпυes to staпd firm iп her coпvictioпs. That kiпd of resilieпce is somethiпg we shoυld all admire,” she remarked. Behar also addressed the criticisms directed at Rapiпoe’s methods of protest. She argυed that peacefυl protest is a fυпdameпtal right aпd a powerfυl tool for social chaпge. “Let’s пot forget that maпy of the rights we eпjoy today were woп throυgh peacefυl protests. Megaп’s actioпs are part of a loпg traditioп of civil disobedieпce aimed at makiпg oυr coυпtry better,” Behar asserted. Iп calliпg for love aпd respect for Rapiпoe, Behar υrged viewers to look beyoпd their disagreemeпts aпd recogпize the positive impact of her work. “We doп’t have to agree with everythiпg she says or does, bυt we shoυld respect her passioп aпd dedicatioп to makiпg the world a better place,” Behar coпclυded. “Megaп Rapiпoe is a treasυre, aпd we shoυld treat her as sυch.” The defeпse of Megaп Rapiпoe by Joy Behar oп “The View” resoпated with maпy, sparkiпg a reпewed coпversatioп aboυt the role of athletes iп activism aпd the importaпce of sυpportiпg those who strive for jυstice. As the пatioп grapples with complex social issυes, voices like Rapiпoe’s coпtiпυe to iпspire aпd challeпge υs to reflect oп oυr valυes aпd the kiпd of society we waпt to bυild. Iп a time wheп divisive rhetoric ofteп overshadows coпstrυctive dialogυe, Behar’s call for love aпd respect serves as a remiпder of the power of empathy aпd υпderstaпdiпg. Megaп Rapiпoe’s story is a testameпt to the eпdυriпg spirit of those who dare to dream of a more jυst aпd eqυitable world, aпd the пatioп woυld do well to cherish aпd sυpport sυch hiddeп treasυres.

Whoopi Goldberg Claps Back at NeNe Leakes Over Her Comments About The View, Backed by Video Evidence-nhung

Whoopi Goldberg has never been one to mince words. On Wednesday, Goldberg appeared on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, where a viewer call-in question prompted host Andy Cohen to ask about the shade NeNe Leakes has been throwing the ladies of The View since her set visit on Nov. 17. After the viewer had asked why Leakes accused the co-hosts of being “mean girls,” Cohen asked Goldberg, “Did you know when she left that day she was feeling that?” At that point, it’s pretty clear Goldberg was largely unaware of the drama. “You know what? I really didn’t. Come on! Really, NeNe?” said Goldberg, who then wanted to know if Leakes actually gave any specific explanation for her negative experience. Cohen explained that the former The Real Housewives of Atlanta star felt like Raven-Symoné was giving her the “stink eye” and that she “wasn’t feeling Joy [Behar].” At that point, Goldberg deadpanned, “Well, then, you know, come back another day and try again.” Still, as straightforward as Goldberg’s response was, it was also classy. Goldberg didn’t say anything disparaging about Leakes, which is more than one could say of the reverse. When Leakes chatted with Cohen on Watch What Happens Live on Dec. 6, she didn’t exactly play nice, saying of The View co-hosts, “They did not have nice manners. I know they’re all tired: Their hairstyles are tired, their makeup is tired. Whatever.”

Although Leakes’ comments were uncalled for, her suggestion that the women of The View weren’t very friendly to her might actually have some merit. Were they “real nastylike,” as she accuses? It’s a matter of perspective, but watching the clip of Leakes’ appearance on The View does seem to bolster her claims of some major eye rolling (ahem, Raven-Symoné) and catty comments (ahem, Joy Behar). Leakes felt uncomfortable enough in the moments immediately following her appearance to take her disappointment to social media, tweeting, “Just sat with a bunch of mean girls turning up their noses, looking u up & down as if u don’t belong. The HATE was so real & SAD.” She has since deleted the tweet, but that doesn’t mean Leakes is over the sting. “I was a guest on The View, and I just felt like — honestly speaking — if you invite me to your house, have some manners and treat me nice,” Leakes told E!. “That’s all I’m saying.”

Furious Sylvester Stallone Threatens to Destroy Family Home After Daughter’s Shocking Pregnancy Comment, Causing Major Family Drama and Public Uproar-nhung

Sylvester Stallone has spent much of his career carefully crafting his no-nonsense, tough-guy image. Through franchises like Rocky and Rambo, Sly became a household name, but it would appear that his gruff, often intimidating persona isn’t only reserved for his on-screen characters. Audiences will get a candid look into Stallone’s home life with the release of his new reality show The Family Stallone, and it’s safe to say the 76-year-old’s private ongoings are sparking real interest. Not least where his methods of parenting relating to his three beloved daughters, Sophia, 26, Sistine, 24, and Scarlet, 20, are concerned. The girls have already gone on record to reveal how it’s impossible for them to date anyone while under the watchful gaze of their father, going as far as to claim that he quite literally scares potential suitors off. Now, protective dads looking out for their daughters’ best interests is nothing new. Hell, the trope has been a staple of Hollywood films for as long Hollywood has been Hollywood. Even so, Stallone appears to have no qualms with taking what can only be considered an old school approach to the prospect of his daughters finding new men to live their lives with.

(Photo by Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic) Indeed, one scene from the upcoming The Family Stallone, set to drop May 17, has generated a particular amount of buzz, with The Expendables star proving beyond all doubt that he will guard the… ahem… innocence of his daughters strictly. As per the Daily Mirror, the clip in question sees Stallone on the verge of a meltdown after one of his daughter’s jokingly tries to convince him that she’s fallen pregnant. For the legendary actor’s birthday, daughter Sistine, 24, and her mother baked Sly a birthday cake. They then wrote “I’m Pregnant” on top of the cake to try and bait a reaction. And react Stallone certainly did. In the clip, the Rocky Balboa star apparently doesn’t take long at all to lose his cool. “Please turn these cameras off so I can destroy this place,” he says. “I’m going full Rambo.” The 76-year-old later calmed down when he realized the whole thing was a ruse, but it’s safe to assume he didn’t see the funny side of the prank. In the same episode, Sistine went on to discuss in detail the difficulties surrounding her and her sisters’ dating experiences. “Dating when you have the dad that we do is rough,” the 24-year-old said. “The first time a boy came over to meet my parents, he’s going in for the first kiss. I was so nervous and excited. “He looked up at the balcony and said, ‘Oh my God, what is that?’ It was my dad, standing on the balcony, backlit so you just see a silhouette. “He’s so cinematic. This kid jumped in the car and I never saw him again.” As for Stallone’s decision to let cameras in to his home to film and scrutinize his family life, the actor said he had a good reason. “I’m on the road so much and I looked around and thought, my daughters are grown up,” he explained. “Wouldn’t it be great to spend some serious time with them where they couldn’t escape, where they had to be with me.”
